Porto have been unstoppable since the start of the 2025-26 campaign. Under new manager Francesco Farioli, the Dragons have won all eight of their competitive fixtures so far, including a dramatic 1-0 win away to Salzburg on matchday one of the Europa League.
Domestically, Porto lead the Primeira Liga with a flawless seven-from-seven record, most recently dispatching Arouca 4-0 despite playing with 10 men for nearly half the game. Their defensive record has also been excellent, with just one goal conceded across all competitions this season.
The Estadio do Dragão has not always been a fortress in recent Europa League campaigns, with Porto winless in their last two home games in the tournament. However, with 12 wins from 23 Europa League fixtures at the stadium and their current electric form, confidence will be sky-high.
Red Star’s away struggles
Red Star Belgrade arrive in Portugal unbeaten in six matches across all competitions, including a 1-1 draw with Celtic to begin their European journey. They followed that up with a late comeback victory in the Serbian league at the weekend, showing resilience and fighting spirit.
Yet history suggests trouble on the road. Red Star have lost 12 of their last 16 away games in the group or league stages of UEFA competitions and have never beaten Portuguese opposition away from home. Their defensive weaknesses are also a concern, with both teams scoring in 12 of their 15 matches this season.
Prediction: 1 and Over 1.5 Goals
Porto’s flawless momentum, combined with Red Star’s poor European away record, points strongly towards a home win. With the Dragons averaging more than two goals per game this season and the visitors often involved in high-scoring affairs, the best bet is Porto to win and Over 1.5 Goals.
