Monaco return to Stade Louis II aiming to recover from last weekend’s 3-1 defeat to Lorient. Adi Hutter’s men were reduced to 10 men for much of that game and will now try to avoid back-to-back league losses for the first time this year.
At home, however, Les Monegasques have been sensational — unbeaten in 11 straight Ligue 1 matches in the Principality. They have also scored 11 of their 14 goals this season at Stade Louis II, showing their attacking strength in front of their fans.
Still, Monaco’s defensive record remains concerning. They are yet to keep a clean sheet this season and have conceded three penalties — among the most in the division. With attacking players like Ansu Fati and Takumi Minamino in form, another goal-filled fixture seems likely.
Nice aim to stop the slide
Nice, meanwhile, are on a four-match winless streak across all competitions and have yet to earn a single point away from home this season. Franck Haise’s side have conceded seven of their 10 Ligue 1 goals on the road and are struggling to take their chances in front of goal.
Le Gym have won two of their last three visits to Monaco, keeping clean sheets in both victories, but replicating that defensive solidity will be difficult given their current form.
Prediction
Both sides boast plenty of attacking potential but look fragile at the back. Monaco’s home form and Nice’s leaky defence point toward an open game with several chances at both ends
